You'd think that after all these years

That grief would fade away,

But Dad, sometimes it seems like

You were here just yesterday.

And other times it seems it's been

So long since you were here,

And memories are all we have

To keep you close and near.

The things unsaid, the joys unfelt,

Occasions that you've missed,

The voice we so wish we could hear,

The face we'd love to kiss.

We know the end must come at last,

So we try not to be sad,

But still sometimes the tears must fall

Because we miss you, Dad.
