Butler will have a larger than normal fireworks show this year thanks to another donation.

Pennsylvania American Water Company has donated $4,000 for the July 4 show. This comes on the heels of an $11,000 donation from Peoples TWP.

Last week, Mayor Tom Donaldson said at a joint meeting of the city and Butler Township that the city could not pay for the annual show this year. Peoples TWP stepped up since then, followed by Pennsylvania American.

The fireworks are scheduled for after a Butler BlueSox baseball game at Kelly Automotive Park on July 4, just as it was last year. Zambelli Fireworks again will organize the show.
