CRANBERRY TWP — Medics this afternoon transported an elderly man to UPMC Passavant after his car veered off Franklin Road and hit a tree.

Cranberry police couldn’t immediately release the man’s name.

The man was not wearing his seat belt but escaped without major injury, although police said he seemed confused at the scene.

Medics took the man to the hospital as a precaution and both lanes of Franklin Road reopened shortly after the accident.

The accident happened near the intersection of Franklin and Old Mars Crider roads.
