Walter L. Wiemann

Walter L. Wiemann, 73, of Renfrew passed away on Tuesday at home.

Born on Nov. 22, 1944, in Wilkinsburg, he was the son of the late Alfred Wiemann and the late Marie (Mihm) Wiemann.

Walt graduated from Mars High School in 1962, where he lettered four years on the football team.

After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam from 1963 to 1967.

He retired from Calgon Carbon in 2005 after working for 39 years as a maintenance supervisor.

He loved his family dearly and would have done anything for them.

He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their events to offer encouragement and support.

He was a beekeeper and enjoyed all of nature, taking care of the birds and deer and anything else that crossed his backyard.

Walt was a kind and generous person and will be dearly missed by his family.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Karen (Rader) Wiemann; two daughters, Kimberly Ketcham of Lititz, Pa., and Tammi Kaufman and her husband, Rob, of Rochester, Pa.; two grandchildren, Ryan and Robin Kaufman; three brothers, Al Wiemann of Cranberry, Gerald Wiemann and his wife, Colleen, of Renfrew, and Ray Wiemann of Hilton Head, S.C.; one sister, Lois Berthelson of Montana; one brother-in-law, Roy Rader and his wife, Joy, of Butler; three nieces; four nephews; six cousins; and multiple grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Mary Frances.

WIEMANN — A visitation for Walter L. Wiemann, who died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.Military honors will follow the service.Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.Donations in honor of his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
