Butler County residents can expect severe weather this afternoon from 12:30 to 3 p.m. according to the National Weather Service.

“There is an enhanced risk of severe storms,” said Steve Bicehouse, director of emergency services in Butler County, “heavy rain, high winds and thunderstorms, and there is also a potential for hail.”

Bicehouse said residents should take the normal precautions for severe weather conditions.

“Monitor weather reports and be prepared,” said Bicehouse. “Make sure you have enough supplies to last a few days in case your power goes out.”

According to the National Weather Service, the best thing residents can do to be prepared is to stay informed: Tune in to local media outlets, check weather apps and visit the National Weather Service’s website, which is updated whenever new information is available.
