The Grapevine Center will hold its 2019 Remembrance and Celebration of Life Rally on Wednesday to raise awareness for Mental Illness Week, which runs from Oct. 6 to 12.

County Commissioner Kevin Boozel will be the speaker at the event, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grapevine Center, 140 N. Elm St. in Butler.

He will update attendees on the state of mental health in Butler as well as give a proclamation on mental health to Bette Peoples, the Grapevine Center’s executive director.

The center is a mental illness and treatment facility.

The event will commemorate the lives of seven Grapevine members who died in the past year and focus on the effects of mental illness on those who suffer from it.
