Richard S. “Dick” Jefferson, 77, of Portersville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 19, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on March 16, 1944, in East Brady, and was the son of the late C.J. and Katherine (Erb) Jefferson.

Dick served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a Navy Seal.After his service, he worked for International Staple for over 25 years, until his retirement.He was extremely active with the Summit Township Sportsman Club, and as a volunteer firefighter with the East Butler station.He enjoyed car shows, hunting and fishing, but most of all, spending time with his family and friends.Above all else, Dick took enormous pride in his Native American heritage and traditions.Richard was the beloved husband of Susan (Walter) Jefferson; the father of Richard R. Jefferson, Susan (Jeffrey Jr.) Pelkofer and Kayla Jefferson; the grandfather of Cassandra and Alexis; and great- grandfather of Anneliese.He is also survived by his half-sister, Pauline Rottman.JEFFERSON — All services for Richard S. “Dick” Jefferson, who died Saturday, June 19, 2021, will be held privately and arrangements are under the direction of SPENCER D.
