Donald Lee Burgess
Donald Lee Burgess, 82, of Zelienople, formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away Saturday at Passavant Retirement Community.
Born July 26, 1935, in Baltimore, he was the son of Harry Lee Burgess and Bertha Westermeyer Burgess.
Don worked at Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point, Md., as an assistant division manager. He was a member of English Lutheran Church. He also belonged to the Zelienople Rotary, the Zelienople Historical Society and the Borough Council. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Allison Park and was actively involved in the Syria Shriners. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Phyllis Maier Burgess, whom he married in November of 2014; his children, Judi Webster and her husband, Bill, of Belen, N.M., Stephanie Petri and her husband, Steve, of Middle River, Md., and Donna Burgess of Parkville, Md.; his stepchildren, Lynn Gaches and her husband, Bill, of Wilmington, N.C., Gary Maier and his wife, Tracy, of Kingston, Tenn., and Beth A. Hetzel of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; his brother, Wayne Burgess and his wife, Madeline, of The Villages, Fla.; his grandchildren, Kristi Lanciotti, Steven Petri, Kimberly Billa, and Danielle and Brett Gerkens; and his great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Hayden, Ellie, Kohen and Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his first wife, H. Irene Watson Burgess, who died in 1995; his second wife, Barbara Heasley, who died in 2012; and his grandson, Gordon Webster, who died in 2009.
BURGESS — Friends of Donald Lee Burgess, who died Saturday, June 16, 2018, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at English Lutheran Church, 200 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.He will be laid to rest at the Moreland Memorial Park in Parkville, Md.Memorial donations may be made in Don's honor to the Shriners Hospitals for Children of Philadelphia, Development Office, 3551 N.
