Geraldine Riemer

Geraldine Elizabeth Miller Riemer, 97, formerly of Cabot, passed away Dec. 13, 2020, at Glenwood Care Center in Dublin, Ohio.

She was born in Winfield Township, and was the daughter of the late Harvey and Viola Bicker Miller.

Mrs. Riemer was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school, and gladly worked at whatever she was asked to do.

She met her future husband, Harold Riemer, when she worked as a housekeeper for his family. He liked the way she ironed his shirts and pursued her as a girlfriend. They married in Zion Church on May 9, 1946. He passed away March 4, 2016.

Mrs. Riemer was a Winfield Township High School graduate, and also graduated from Butler Business School.

She had been a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Co. and worked at Western Auto before becoming known as “The Tupperware Lady.” She was active in Tupperware for over 50 years, winning many awards during that time.

She was a den mother when her sons were in Cub Scouts, and was cheering in the front row of her son’s baseball games at the ball fields along Knoch Road and then at Laura Doerr Park.

She and her husband loved to travel. In addition to taking their motor home to 49 states and Canada, they traveled to Hawaii and many European countries.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Cammy) Riemer of Winchester, Va., Gary (Maxine) Riemer of Sarver, and Timothy (Donna) Riemer of Cabot.

Also surviving is her daughter-in-law, Margaret Riemer of Columbus, Ohio; her grandchildren, Tabatha (Doug) Johnston, Nathan (Melanie) Riemer, Jacab (Tarah) Riemer, Heather (Justin) Thompson, Ashley (Michael) Nines, Michelle (Matthew) Michaelis, Spencer Riemer, Angela Riemer, Rachel Riemer, Zoe Riemer and Dorian Riemer; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two stepgrandsons; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Mary Lois (Ginger) Miller.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband of 69 years, Harold L. Riemer, she was preceded in death by her son, Bennett Riemer, who passed away Jan. 27, 2020; three sisters; and a brother.

RIEMER — There will be no visitation for Geraldine Elizabeth Miller Riemer, who died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.
