Jason Conti had four RBI to lead the Oklahoma RedHawks to a 9-3 victory over Round Rock in a Pacific Coast League game Sunday.

The Seneca Valley graduate had a two-run homer, an RBI single and a sacrifice fly for Oklahoma (12-12), the Class AAA affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

Conti is tied for the team lead with seven home runs. He is batting .265 (26-for-98) with 17 RBI and has scored 19 runs.

MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota Twins pitcher Juan Rincon, who emerged last season as one of baseball's top setup men, became the highest-profile violator of Major League Baseball's new policy on performance-enhancing drugs.Rincon was suspended for 10 days after testing positive for an undisclosed substance, the fifth player to be suspended this season.Michael Weiner, general counsel of the Major League Baseball Players Association, said a grievance would be filed Tuesday. But unlike other penalties, such as for fighting, suspensions under this policy take effect immediately and are not delayed pending a hearing.Rincon is 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 12 appearances this season.

NEW YORK - The baseball players' union told commissioner Bud Selig that it was willing to talk to him about his call for harsher steroids penalties.Last week, Selig wrote to union head Donald Fehr, asking players to agree to tougher penalties than the ones that took effect at the start of the season. Selig now wants a 50-game suspension for first-time steroid offenders, a 100-game ban for a second offense and a lifetime suspension for a third violation.

BOSTON - The city paid $5.1 million to the parents of a college student who was killed by a pepper-spray pellet fired by police trying to subdue a riot among Red Sox fans outside Fenway Park after Boston's playoff win over the New York Yankees last fall.Victoria Snelgrove, a 21-year-old Emerson College senior, died hours after she was hit in the eye socket with the projectile Oct. 21 after Boston beat the Yankees for the American League pennant.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Ben Wallace won the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year award for the third time in four years.Wallace, who was presented with the trophy at an afternoon news conference, joins Dikembe Mutombo as the only players to win the award three or more times.Wallace also won the award in 2002 and 2003. Mutombo won in 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2001.

CLEVELAND - Browns tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. sustained internal injuries when he was thrown from a motorcycle, the team said.Winslow, who missed most of last season with a broken right leg, also has swelling in his right shoulder and right knee. The extent of those injuries won't be known until further tests are performed and the swelling subsides.The Browns didn't provide details of Winslow's internal injuries, but said they are not life-threatening. Winslow had complained of chest pains after he was injured Sunday.Winslow is being treated at the Cleveland Clinic by the team's medical staff, Browns spokesman Bill Bonsiewicz said.
