“Don’t be sad, I’m at peace.” Esther Irene Swartzlander Cole passed away March 10, 2022, in Florida.

She was the daughter of the late James and Gladys Swartzlander, and the wife of the late Thomas (“Tom”) F. Cole.

Esther was a fun-loving person, who enjoyed singing karaoke with Tom and family and friends. She was a beautiful seamstress and skilled crafter. She loved cooking and baking and inviting people over to have a few beers and sing. She loved going to lunch with her sisters at Perkins and Family Tradition. She loved living in Pennsylvania, but after the loss of her husband moved back to Florida. She will be missed but never forgotten!

Esther is survived by four sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Rittenhouse of Ohio, Gladys DeMatteis of Boyers, Wilda Kenny of Tarentum, and Nora Spohn of Butler; two sons, William Cole of Florida, and Thomas F. Cole Jr. of South Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Swartzlander Jr., Ronald Swartzlander and Robert Swartzlander; three sisters, Matilda Chupka, Mary Sutton and Linda McCormick.

COLE — Services were private for Esther Irene Swartzlander Cole, who died Thursday, March 10, 2022.
