The Butler County Heritage Center, the Little Red School House and the Lowrie/Shaw House will be open for tours Saturday during the Butler Fall Festival.

The center, 119 W. New Castle St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food will be available.

The school house, 200 E. Jefferson St., will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Lowrie/Shaw House, 123 W. Diamond St, will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Apple dumplings will be available.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock VillageFest will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on Main Street in Slippery Rock.The festival will offer crafters, food vendors, live bands, children's activities, a 5K run and more. For information, call 724-794-2338.

HARRISVILLE — The Slippery Rock and Harrisville volunteer fire companies will hold a cash and gun raffle sportsman's night with doors to open at 5:30 p.m. and the first drawing at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Harrisville Firehall.Participants must be 21 or older. Food and refreshments will be provided.

BUTLER TWP— The Butler Dog Training Association will hold a Doggie Fun Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Alameda Park. Activities will include agility rings, rally obedience ring, microchipping by a veterinarian, breed and obedience competition, agility and Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog testing.Dogs also will be able to swim in the pool from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Owners must take pet licenses and vaccination records.For more information, call 724-284-5383.

PROSPECT — The Butler County Federated Library System will conduct a book discussion led by Lisa Miles, author of "Resurrecting Allegheny City: The Land, Structures and People of Pittsburgh's North Side.The discussion will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Prospect Community Library, 357 Main St. To register and reserve a copy of the book, call 724-865-9718.

SLIPPERYROCK — the Patrick J. Madden Memorial 5K run and walk will be held at 9 a.m. Oct. 4 at Slippery Rock Community Park. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.Registration cost will include a T-shirt. CRANBERRY TWP — The annual reunion of the six former Cranberry one-room schools will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Plains Presbyterian Church on Franklin and Plains Church roads. A buffet supper will begin at 4 p.m.Attendees should take table service and a covered dish.
