Park to host events this week
The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will host several events this week at Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road.
The Family Summer Concert Series will feature the rock ‘n roll band “Muddy Creek” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Odd Fellows Gazebo.
School pride day will be Wednesday at Alameda Waterpark. Students of the Moniteau and Allegheny-Clarion Valley school districts wearing a school logo or showing a school ID will receive half off water park admission.
Alameda Story Adventures, “Charlotte’s Web,” for children age 6 and younger will continue from 11:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Rotary Shelter.
The Outdoor Discovery Series will host Jennings Environmental Center educators to present “Honey Heroes” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Carousel Shelter.
“Paddington Bear” will be the Moonlight Swim and Dive-In Movie from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at Alameda Waterpark. There will be a fee for non-members.
A Frozen Pool Party will be from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Aug. 1 at Alameda Waterpark. The movie “Frozen” will be shown at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department office, 184 Alameda Park Road.

‘Alien Encounters’ slated at library
ZELIENOPLE — Representatives from the Center for Unexplained Events will be at the Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St., at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 3 to present the program “Alien Encounters.”
Items from the Center for Unexplained Events will be available to purchase after the presentation.

BHS Class of ’57 women set reunion
The women of the Class of 1957 of Butler High School will have a reunion at noon Aug. 11 at the Hardwood Cafe, 646 Pittsburgh Road.
Bricks to honor hometown heroes
FREEPORT — Freeport VFW 6648 is selling engraved bricks to honor veterans from Freeport and the surrounding communities who have served in war and peace anytime in U.S. history.
The bricks will display the veteran’s name and military information and will complete a patio in Freeport Veteran’s Park on Riverside Drive.
Order forms are available at Freeport Area Library, 428 Market St., and on the “services” page of www.freeportlibrary.org.
