This two-day course is required for individuals before getting their first hunting or fur-taking license. For ages 11 and older. Participants must register online in advance at www.pgc.state.pa.us.

Sept. 8 Alameda Park 184 Alameda Park Road, Butler Township
This annual tournament is sponsored by the Butler County Bocce Association and the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department and features bocce teams from all over Butler County competing in a double elimination tournament to crown the best of Butler.

The American Cancer Society Bark For Life is a fundraising event honoring the contributions of canine caregivers. There will be walk, canine related activities and vendors throughout the event. To sign up, visit relay.acsevents.org.
[naviga:h3]Dog Paddle Pool Pawty[/naviga:h3]
Sept. 10, 1 to 4 p.m. Alameda Park 184 Alameda Park Road, Butler Township
The pool at Alameda will be open for a dog-only swim. Attendees must bring a copy of their pet’s license and vaccination records. The cost is $10 per dog and 50 percent of the proceeds of this event will benefit the Butler County Humane Society.
