Gary Gates
Gary Gates, 83, of Penn Township passed away on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020.
He was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Butler, and was the son of the late William and Mildred Gates.
Gary retired from Armco after 41 years.
He was an active member of Thorn Creek United Methodist Church.
He loved puzzles, bottle collecting, riding on his tractor, and was a member of numerous social clubs.
Gary was the loving father of Shellie Matteoni and Jeffrey Gates; and the brother of Glenna Lou Franko, Rex (Sally) Gates and Sondra (Richard) Grossman.
Gary is also survived by his grandchildren, Levi and Breanne Gates, and Matthew, Micole and Elizabeth Matteoni.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna (Flick) Gates, whom he was married to for over 57 years, and who passed away in 2015; and his brother, Willis Gates.
GATES — Friends of Gary Gates, who died Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, will be received from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Monday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
A private prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
All guests are to adhere to COVID-19 requirements.
