Carol Ann Hegburg

Carol Ann (Dickey) Hegburg, 77, of Renfrew passed away at 9:50 p.m. Friday at Sugar Creek Rest after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 21, 1938, in Butler to the late Clarence E. Dickey and Pearl I. (Morrison) Dickey.

Carol Ann attended St. John's Reformed Church.

She was a floral designer for Pepper Flowers for many years and was a caregiver at the Lowry House.

Carol Ann was a Pittsburgh Pirates fan and enjoyed bird watching, watching basketball, reading her Bible and loved gardening. But she most loved spending time with her family and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William “Bill” Hegburg, who she married May 25, 1958; one son, William Dan Hegburg and his wife, Leslie, of Karns City; two daughters, Colleen (Tina) Barger and her husband, Doug, of Chicora and Tammy Double and her husband, Robert, of Chicora; six grandchildren, Shannon O'Donnell and her husband, Jarrold, Ingrid Peth and her husband, Adam, Amber Double, Bradon Hegburg, Tyler Simmon and Leah; nine great-grandchildren, Bailee, Bree and Brynlee O'Donnell, Regan, Roslynn and Rhennna Peth, Landen Kerr, Laikynn Berry and Brodie; two brothers, Charles (Bo) J. Dickey and William D. Dickey, both of Butler; one sister, Nancy L. Fleeger and her husband, John, of Butler; several nieces and nephew; one stepgrandson, Brian; one step-granddaughter, Tara; and five step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Dickey Jr.; her niece, Maria Cypher; her grandson-in-law, Michael Kerr; and her step-granddaughter, Angie.

HEGBURG — Friends of Carol Ann (Dickey) Hegburg, who died Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services immediately will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Jarrod Crawford of St. John's Reform Church officiating.
