Virginia Durane Elder Wible, of 812 Enterprise Road, Grove City, passed away peacefully at 11:33 p.m. Thursday in the Grove Manor nursing facility with some family members at her side after an extended illness. She was 86.

Mrs. Wible was born Dec. 8, 1923, in Butler to Reid and Anna Heathcoat Elder.

She attended Butler schools.

Ginnery lived in Butler as a young woman until she met the love of her life, Wayne "Mickey" Wible. The couple was married in Butler in St. Peter's Episcopal Church on March 31, 1941. The couple spent 68 years together before Wayne's passing on Dec. 30, 2009.

In 1947, Ginney and her family moved to Grove City.

She focused her life on being a loving, caring mother and a devoted wife. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was especially well-known for her bubbly attitude and her sweet, kind smile. Anyone who knew Ginney will always think of her contagious positive outlook on life.

She leaves her four children, William W. Wible of Largo, Fla., Carol Van Voorhis and her husband, George "Mick," King of Prussia, Pa., Shawnee Denbow and her husband, Harold "Bud," of Grove City and Shelley Surrena and her husband, Rich, of Medina, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Jacy Van Voorhis Steinmetz, Jennifer Van Voorhis Venezia, Ryan Surrena, Chad Surrena, Jarrod Denbow and Kent Denbow. Her three great-grandchildren are Chelsea Steinmetz, Matthew Steinmetz and Emily Venezia. Also surviving are sisters, Janet Barto and Beverly Zavacky of Butler.

Besides her parents, Ginney was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Wible; her brother, William Elder; and her sisters, Betty Weisenstein and Gloria Prewitt.

<B>WIBLE</B> — Calling hours for Virginia Durane Elder Wible, who died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Ficca Funeral Home</B>, 203 E. Pine St., Grove City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul R. Milliken, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church of Grove City, officiating. Interment will be private.The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City, PA 16127; VITAS Hospice, 235 Alpha Drive, Suite 101, Pittsburgh, PA 15238; or the Salvation Army.
