Peggy Jean Tisdale
Peggy Jean Tisdale, 90, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 6, 2021, at her home.
Born Aug. 29, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Effa Farnham Wishart.
She was a graduate of Hempstead High School in Hempstead, N.Y., where she was the head majorette. She attended Simmons University, SUNY Oneonta, and finally Carnegie Tech. She was a fashion seamstress and often sewed clothes for her family. She had danced with Martha Graham in New York, and had also been a model.
Peggy was the accountant for Wood'n Things in Middlesex for 25 years, and was a member of St. Thomas in the Fields Church. She was also a former member of the Butler Country Club.
Surviving are her children, Caryn J. Contino and Gwendolyn Tisdale, both of Florida, and Marcia S. Sirney (Mark) and Eric A. Tisdale (Joanne), both of Middlesex Township.
She was the grandmother of Julie Contino (Danielle), Chad Contino, Jarett Contino (Charlotte), Chase Contino, Norm Tisdale IV (Dani), Daysha Tisdale, Nick Fisher, Tim Fisher (Mandy), Heather Sirney, Heidi Sirney, Gretchen Sirney, Michael Sirney (Shannon), Elliot Tisdale and Trevor Tisdale.
She was the great-grandmother of Silas Fisher, Olivia Fisher, Alex Contino, Zoe Contino, Jaxson Sirney, Owen Sirney, Elliana Jo Sirney, Sophie Tisdale, Savannah Tisdale and Joachim Norman Cami Contino; and the mother-in-law of Geraldine Francionne (Lou) of Middlesex Township.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Fenwick Tisdale Jr., whom she married on Dec. 16, 1950, and who died on April 5, 2020; a son, Norman F. Tisdale III; and a granddaughter, Chloe L. Tisdale.
