Preventive Maintenance
Tommy Stoughton of Butler Public Works seals a crack in the road on Pittsburgh Pike Monday morning. This preventive maintenance process keeps water from infiltrating the subsurface, while protecting the integrity and extending the life of the asphalt. According to the Public Works website, the department is responsible for the maintenance of 53 miles of city streets and 30 miles of secondary streets.
