Robert E. Bogan Jr.

Robert E. Bogan Jr., 89, of Clinton Township died Tuesday at his home peacefully surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 23, 1923, in Renfrew, and lived in Clinton for the past 62 years.

He was a 1940 graduate of Mars High School and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, serving as an airplane maintenance technician. Upon discharge, he continued to serve with the 99th Air Wing in Pittsburgh, retiring with a rank of captain after 20 years of reserve service.

He worked for 62 years as a union brick layer, working out of Local 9. He was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Russellton, a life member of the Owls Club, a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Butler, a member of VFW of Butler, a life member of the Culmerville Sportsman Club and a life member of the Polish National Alliance. He enjoyed walking and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his sons, Robert E. (Joan) Bogan III of Brighton, Colo., David R. (Karen) Bogan of Clinton Township, Frederick A. Bogan of Clinton Township, Charles A. (Barbara) Bogan of Goodell, Iowa, Floyd C. Bogan of Buffalo Township and John G. (Lore) Bogan of Clinton Township; his daughters, Margie E. (Jakob) Dvoracek of Blackhawk, Colo., Kathleen L. (Thomas) Wright of North Kingsville, Ohio, Connie J. (Roy) Granville of Buffalo Township, Rosanne (Lew) Crider of Penn Township and Marianne (Greg) Muller of Jefferson Township; 31 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren; brothers William Bogan of Valencia, James Bogan of Nixon, Regis Bogan of Winfield and Edward (Elaine) Bogan of Alabama; and his sister, Rita Eckert of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi L. (Dennis) Bogan; his sons, Michael Dennis and William Bogan; his parents, Robert E. and Amelia M. (Rape) Bogan Sr.; a brother, Thomas Bogan; and a sister, Mary Jane Richards.

<B>BOGAN</B> — The family of Robert E. Bogan Jr., who died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at <B>SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME</B>, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township. A Christian funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, 100 McKrell Road, Russellton.
