Roger A. Brain

Roger A. Brain, 66, of West Sunbury Road, West Sunbury, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice following a 19-month battle with cancer.

Roger was born in Elwood City on Oct. 27, 1948. He was the son of the late Charles and Mae Allen Brain.

He was a Presbyterian and was a 1966 graduate of Slippery Rock High School. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He had worked as a truck driver for many years for Hillshire Farms and Kahn’s and retired from Eagle Express Lines.

Roger is survived by his wife, Kim L. McGowan Brain, who he married at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Prospect on Oct. 19, 1984. Also surviving are two children, Christine Brain Todd and her husband, R. Heath, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Devin Alan Brain of West Sunbury; one grandson, Chase Noah Brain of Slippery Rock; two brothers, John “Jack” Brain of Butler and Richard “Rick” Brain of Prospect; one sister, Bernadette Gallo and her husband, James “Jim” of Butler; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

BRAIN — Friends of Roger A. Brain, who died Thursday, June, 4, 2015, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the JAY BRYANT FUNERAL HOME, Prospect.

A funeral service will be at the Presbyterian Church of Prospect at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Jeffrey Curtis, retired Presbyterian pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 154 Hindman Rd., Butler, PA 16001.

Arrangements are under the directions of the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora.
