Morris Steinhiser

Morris Joseph Steinhiser, 73, of Cabot passed away at 9:55 p.m. Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

Born Nov. 27, 1942, in Butler, he was a son of the late Alfred James and Arbutus J. (Hannaman) Steinhiser.

He had worked over the years for various employers: Mitchell Westerman, Moonlight Mushroom, Lezzer Lumber, Lernerville Speedway in the pit gate and part-time at Giant Eagle in Sarver.

He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot where he served as an usher. He started the Knights of Columbus Council 1138 at St. Joseph. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Assembly. He also was a volunteer firefighter for the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed reading, watching country westerns, races at Lernerville and especially time with his grandchildren and his family.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen (Osche) Steinhiser, who he married May 22, 1971; his son, Michael (Kitzie) Steinhiser of Hilliards; three grandchildren, Michael Jr., Mason and Joseph; three step-grandchildren, T.J., Olivia and Danika; two sisters, RoseAnn Geibel of Leechburg, Pa., and Regina Bush and her companion, Rick, of Pennsylvania; his brother, Walter Steinhiser of Greenville, Pa.; his mother-in-law, Agnes Osche; his brothers-in-law, Albert (Julie), Thomas, Charles, Patrick (Mary) and James (Susan) Osche, and his sister-in-law, Margaret (Dave) Graham.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Steinhiser, who passed away in 1991, and David Steinhiser who passed away in 2002; his sister, Alice Bayne, who passed away in 2004; and his brother-in-law, John Osche, who passed away in 2011

STEINHISER — Friends of Morris Joseph Steinhiser, who died Friday, May 19, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot, Pa., 16023.
