Homer Bartley Sr.
Homer L. Bartley Sr., 94, of Saxonburg, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021, at the Shelbourne Personal Care Home.
Born Oct. 29, 1926, in New Kensington, he was the son of James C. Bartley and Hannah Greirson.
Homer served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He had worked as a supervisor for Hanes Trucking. He was a member of Saxonburg VFW Post 7376. He was an honorary Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed hunting and racing horses. He was a deacon at the North View Baptist Church in Lexington, Ky.
Surviving are his sons, Homer L. (Barbara) Bartley Jr., James H. (Debbie) Bartley of Saxonburg, Bruce Allen (Sheila) Bartley of Evans City and Terry Gene Bartley of Lexington, Ky.; his sister, Hannah Barber of Georgia; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Brandy, Lee and Lindsay; six great-grandchildren, Hunter, Owen, Brady, Dylan, Sadie and Kinsley; and six step-children, Judy, Gail, Mickey, Becky, Kelly and Lori, all of Lexington, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Dale E. Bartley; two infant daughters; his first wife, Bertha Kennedy Bartley; his second wife, Helen Ryker Bartley; one brother, Edward Bartley; two sisters, Grace Miller and Martha Weber; a grandson, Bruce Bartley; and one great-granddaughter.
Bartley Sr. — Friends of Homer L. Bartley Sr., who died Monday, July 12, 2021, will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home, with Rev. Brian Shirey, officiating.
Interment will follow in Summit Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
