SRU alum chief ranger at Everglades
Slippery Rock University alumnus Tom Iandimarino was hired as chief ranger of Everglades National Park in Florida, one of the largest national parks in the United States.
Iandimarino graduated from SRU in 1989 and first worked in the Everglades in 1997. He worked in supervisory positions at Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Dry Tortugas National Park, eventually returning to the Everglades in 2010 and rising through the ranks to his current position in the 1.4-million-acre park.
His new role includes overseeing the resource protection program, which includes law enforcement, emergency medical services, search and rescue, wilderness operations, structural fire response and an interagency dispatch center.
