<B>The Rotary Club of Butler</B> recently donated $1,000 to <B>Lifesteps</B>. The funds were used for the Merry Moments with Santa Christmas party held recently at the Meadowbrook Residential Community.

<B>Betsy Stowe</B> of Slippery Rock received five writing awards for her poetry and photography gift book, "Calico Tales and Others" by Infinity Publishing.Included in those was the World's Best Cat Litterary Award, sponsored by the World's Best Cat Litter, at the 2004 Communication Contest awards banquet of the Cat Writers' Association on Nov. 20 in Houston.
