SRU's Walters gets All-America honorSLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University sophomore designated hitter Tyler Walters has been named to the 2016 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-America Team.A second-team honoree, Walters is the ninth SRU player to earn NCBWA All-America since 2007. He hit .439 this season with 15 doubles, 12 homers and 45 RBI.

Rock lacrosse players join all-star gameSLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University senior midfielder Erin Wilcox and senior goalkeeper Jordan Wagner have been selected to play in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association NCAA Division II All-Star Game.The game — featuring 42 of the top senior lacrosse athletes in NCAA Division II — will take place at 12:45 p.m. June 4 in Radnor.Wilcox scored 52 goals this season and has had back-to-back 50-goal seasons. Wagner had 129 saves and a .416 save percentage.
