Limited-edition Jeep print will be sold

The collectible, limited-edition print for the annual Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival will be on sale at the Jeep Invasion on Friday night in Butler and at Cooper's Lake Campground on Friday to Sunday. Only 100 prints were produced, and they are on sale for $100 each.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival has produced a collectible limited-edition print for Jeep enthusiasts and festival supporters.

The print is created exclusively for the festival each year by an artist and features a Bantam Jeep in the design.

Don Henderson, the artist for the 2014 print, is a graphic designer from New Kensington. The print he created is a vector illustration made up of 5,963 individually drawn paths.

The design features a Bantam logo with an outline of the Butler County Courthouse and a BRC-40 from a lower angle view to emphasize the distinctive grill of the Jeep. The details were drawn from photos that Henderson took of the BRC-40 and rely heavily on the Bantam’s history as a military vehicle as well as the close tie to its birthplace in Butler.

Being a part of the festival is meaningful to Henderson because it reminded him of his first Jeep, a 1965 CJ5 Tuxedo Park MKIV, and the many he has owned since.

“I’ve owned nine different Jeeps, so to be asked to do the illustration for the 2014 Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival was not only an honor for me, but it just seemed like something I was destined to do,” Henderson said.

“I’ve been driving Jeeps since I was a teenager and bought my first Jeep.”

The 16-by-20 prints are signed by the artist, numbered and include a certificate of authenticity.

They are printed on an uncoated gray cover stock and are four-color process lithographs. They feature foil embossing of a high definition brass die to showcase the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival logo.

Only 100 prints were produced, and they are $100 each, unframed.

They can be bought at the festival’s merchandise store at Cooper’s Lake Campground on Saturday and Sunday and also at the Jeep Invasion on Friday evening in Butler.

The event’s online store will reopen in July and any remaining prints can be bought there for a limited time.

There are still a few prints remaining from the previous three years. Those interested in buying any of the past prints may call 724-234-2291.
