Meridian rallies for 5-3 win

Meridian plated three runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat Center Township 5-3 Saturday night at Kelly Automotive Park.

Meridian tied the game on a sacrifice fly by Evan Kanuer. Adam Schaffner followed with a double to right filed that plated Nick Robinson and Ryan Denny to put Meridian ahead.

Robinson earned the win, throwing a complete game and striking out 10. Devin Fitz and Joe DiMartino both drove in runs for Center Township.

Justin Rickert also picked up an RBI for Meridian. Patrick Byrd pitched a complete game for Center Township, allowing four hits and striking out five.

Kiski Valley 11, Butler City 7 — Trent Mator went 2 for 3 with 4 RBIs to help Kiski Valley edge Butler City Saturday.

Kiski Valley 8, Cranberry 0 — Shane Slebrich struck out two in seven innings to help Kiski Valley earn a shutout win Thursday.
