Elections bureau gets Boozel's report
Butler County Commissioner candidate Kevin Boozel’s campaign finance report was submitted to the county Bureau of Elections on Friday.
The deadline to file the report was May 8.
Boozel, who is a Democrat, said he mailed his report from the Slippery Rock Post Office on May 7, but said it never made it to the county office.
The Committee to Elect Boozel for Butler raised $6,772 this year, with $2,918 coming from Boozel himself. It brought forward $1,468 from the previous reporting period.
Boozel’s committee spent $6,322, leaving $1,918 left.
Boozel paid $1,700 to Blue Deal of Annandale, Va., for yard signs, and nearly $500 for television and radio advertising.
Here are the contributions of more than $200 to Boozel:
$1,000: Georgia Berner of Zelienople
$250: John Hadgkiss of Cranberry Township.
The 14 commissioner candidates seeking the Democratic and Republican nominations in Tuesday’s primary raised more than $250,000 combined this year.
