'Songs of Spring' features vocalist in jazz series
PENN TWP — The second installment in a Jazz Cabaret series will feature vocalist Dane Vannatter and his trio on Wednesday.
“Jazz Songs of Spring” will start at 7 p.m. at the Conley’s on Route 8.
Vannatter is the recipient of two Bistro Awards for Outstanding Vocalist and for his second CD “Flight,” from the critics of BackStage in New York.
He was featured at the annual Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention at Town Hall in Manhattan, and has performed in venues nationally and internationally.
His fourth CD, “Give Me Something Real,” was released in 2016.
The jazz series benefits the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund. Sponsor donations pay for the performers, and the ticket price of $12.50 goes to the free care fund.
Appetizers and a cash bar are planned. The venue is set up to resemble a retro jazz club with individual tables and low lighting.
The series recently moved from the main campus of St. Barnabas Health System in Gibsonia to this new St. Barnabas site.
