SV student hit by car outside school

A student was struck by a car outside Seneca Valley Senior High School shortly after dismissal Wednesday, but was not seriously injured, police said.

Jackson Township police Chief Terry Seilhamer said a male student stepped off the curb and was struck by a car driven by a female, who said she never saw him. The male rolled onto the hood and struck his elbow on the windshield.

There were no apparent injuries at the scene, Seilhamer said, but the student was taken to the hospital for observation. The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the back of the school near the athletic fields.

Jackson Township Police, the school resource officer and Harmony EMS responded.
