Pirates top league in hits this spring
BRADENTON, Fla. — The Pittsburgh Pirates collected eight hits in Monday’s 5-3 Grapefruit League loss to the Minnesota Twins, giving them a league-leading 234 in spring training.
Ke’Bryan Hayes and Adam Frazier lead the team with 21 hits. Hayes had two hits Monday.
Mars graduate David Bednar struck out the only batter he faced Monday. It was his 18th strikeout of the spring, tying him with Tyler Anderson for the team lead.
