Chris D. Stivers
Chris D. Stivers, 42, of Cabot passed away at 5:45 p.m. Saturday while in the company of family members at UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh.
Chris was born on Nov. 24, 1972, in Natrona Heights. He was the son of Maureen (McKenna) Stivers of Sarver and the late Charles Stivers, who passed in 1987.
Chris was a 1992 graduate of Freeport High School. He had worked as a truck driver for Marks Trucking in Sarver for over 10 years. Chris was a past member of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Department, Station 27. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, hunting and spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Joyce A. (McDade) Stivers; three daughters, Ashley (Samuel) Sipe of Apollo, Catherine Zier of Brackenridge and Mercedes Sowinski of Beaver Falls; his son, Charles D. “Bear” McKenna-Stivers of Cabot; his brother, James (Melissa) Stivers of Sarver; two half sisters, Tammy Raimond of Natrona Heights and Nancy Osche of Sarver; and his close friend that he considered as his brother, Butch Cavanaugh of Sarver.
Chris is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded by his maternal grandparents, Eunice “Tippy” Hidinger and Francis McKenna and his paternal grandparents, Mildred and Henry L. “Army” Stivers Sr.
STIVERS — At the family's request, there will be no visitation for Chris D. Stivers, who died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015.Funeral services will be private and he will be buried next to his father at the Brookland Cemetery in Allegheny Township.The family has request that no flowers be sent to the funeral because of allergies that Mrs. Stivers has.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joyce A.
