Andrew Durand

Andrew “Andy” Durand, 85, of Butler passed away on Dec. 7, 2020, at his home.

Born Dec. 10, 1934, in Creighton, Pa., he was the son of John Durand and Stella Bowser Durand.

He worked as an electrician for Westinghouse, retiring after 36 years.

Andy served in the U.S. Navy during Korea.He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, the IBEW, the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683, the Knights of Columbus, the R.C. Men's Club, and was also a Mason.He enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing.Surviving are his wife, Bernice Meso Durand, whom he married Sept. 14, 1957; his son, Andrew “Buddy” (Dawn) Durand of Butler; three daughters, Denise (Tom) Mikolay of Brunswick, Ohio, Karen (Lee) Woodard of Imperial, Pa., and Kelly (John) Goettler of Butler; his brother, Bob (Joann) Durand of Saxonburg; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.DURAND — Graveside services for Andrew “Andy” Durand, who died Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Burial Estates, with the Rev.
