TITON FALLS, N.J. — Business Facilities, a business publication focusing on relocating or expanding companies, has named the Westinghouse Electric relocation to Cranberry Township the 2007 Economic Development Deal of the Year.

In this 15th year of the Award, the Gold Award goes to the Pennsylvania Department of Economic Development and the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, an affiliate of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.

INDIANA, Pa. — S&T Bancorp and IBT Bancorp are merging, with S&T buying IBT's stock.IBT has branches in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, while S&T has 46 offices in Allegheny, Armstrong, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Clarion, Clearfield, Indiana, Jefferson and Westmoreland counties.The combined company will have more than $4.1 million in assets.

Butler Memorial Hospital has appointed Dr. Peter Molloy, a gastroenterologist, to the medical staff.He has joined the practice of Drs. Richard Latuska and Donald Walters in the Benbrook Medical Center on Benbrook Road.Molloy is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. Most recently, he served as chief of gastroenterology and director of the gastroenterology fellowship program at West Penn Hospital. He also is an associate professor of medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia.He lives in Wexford with his wife and two daughters.

PITTSBURGH — Two Butler County companies were named manufacturers of the year by Pittsburgh Business Times.McKesson Automation of Cranberry Township has been named the large company winner, and MSA, based in Pittsburgh, but with facilities in Cranberry Township, was named the mega company winner.McKesson, which makes robotic pharmacies for hospitals, has more than 1,000 employees with earnings of more than $48 million in the past three years.MSA has about 4,900 employees and reported $913 million in sales in 2006. The company makes safety gear such as helmets, hard hats and self-contained breathing equipment.Manufacturing finalists from Butler County are:Small companyn CMR USA of Zelienople, maker of performance monitors for industrial engines, 24 employees, $3.4 million in 2006 sales;• DuCo Ceramics of Saxonburg, maker of ceramic parts for heating and air conditioning, lighting and control devices, 215 employees, $18 million in anticipated sales 2007;Large company• Traco in Cranberry Township, maker of custom windows and doors, more than 1,800 employees, $210 million in 2006 sales;• Oberg Industries in Freeport, a tool and die maker, metal stamping and precision component manufacturing for the automotive, aerospace, defense, medical, housing and construction and oil and gas exploration industries, 799 employees, $113 million in 2006 sales.

WASHINGTON — Mortgage rates edged up for a second straight week and 30-year loans reached their highest level in a month.The mortgage company Freddie Mac reported Thursday that 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.14 percent this week. That compares with 6.11 percent last week and was the highest since averaging 6.20 percent the week of Nov. 21.Just two weeks ago, 30-year rates had dipped to 5.96 percent, the lowest in more than two years.From staff and wire reports</B><I>Personnel FILEWilliam Lambert, president and chief operating officer of MSA in Pittsburgh, has been elected to the company's board of directors.———Bob Kushner of Cranberry Township has been promoted to vice president of client services for Directions Research Inc., of Cincinnati.
