Beverly Jane Hawk
Beverly Jane Hawk, 77, of Sligo, formerly of Bruin, passed away Saturday at the Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo.
She was born April 28, 1934, in Bruin, the daughter of Kenneth and Lottie (Williams) Walters.
Beverly was a graduate of Bruin High School, Class of 1952. She married the love of her life, Glenn Irvin Hawk, on Jan. 3, 1953, in Winchester, W.Va. They shared 40 years of marriage before his death in 1993.
She was employed with the Parker Glass Plant for 10 years as a glass ware packer.
It was as a wife, mother and grandmother that she found her true calling, devoting herself wholly to her family. Beverly was an outstanding homemaker and gave constant care and guidance of her children through the years. She was a fabulous cook and could prepare a meal that would warm any heart. Her talents were not limited to the kitchen as she was also skillful in needlepoint. Beverly was a kind woman with a loving heart and will be truly missed by all.
Her memory will be carried on by her son, Gary Lee Hawk and his wife, Betty, of Monroe, Ga.; her daughters, Denise Anne McElravy and her husband, David, of Sligo, Cynthia Lynn Morrison and her husband, Rodney, of Emlenton, Judy Rae Reese and her husband, Kenneth, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Teresa Kay Maurhoff and her husband, Vinnie, of Bruin; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ilene Lake of Butler and Wanda Whitfield of Fromberg, Mont.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn I. Hawk, who died March 27, 1993; her son, Dennis James Hawk; her parents; and her sister, Betty Hurst.
HAWK — Relatives and friends of Beverly Jane Hawk, who passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the
Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 102 Argyle Street, Petrolia. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wade Berkley officiating.
