LAWRENCE COUNTY — State Police in New Castle are investigating thefts from two golf cart shops on Harlansburg Road in Lawrence County.

Both thefts occurred sometime after 7 p.m. Thursday and before 7 a.m. Friday.

Police said someone broke into Hart’s Carts, 4770 Harlansburg Road, Plain Grove Township, and stole a utility trailer, aluminum ramps, 16 golf cart tires, 6 light kits, 5 golf cart covers and $300 in cash.

There also was a reported theft at Golf Carts Unlimited, 4493 Harlansburg Road, Scott Township. Police said someone entered that site through a back field in a six-seat, black gas-powered EZGO golf cart and stole a set of off-road tires from a new cart.

The two cart shops are less than a mile apart.

The police reports did not indicate if the thefts are connected.
