CRANBERRY TWP — PennDOT again changed the dates for its closure of Freedom Road in Cranberry Township.

Previously scheduled to begin Friday, the closure will begin at 10 p.m. Aug. 20, and extend through 6 a.m. Aug. 23.

The section of the road closed is between Commonwealth Drive and Executive Drive on Freedom, as crews work to make improvements.

Motorists needing to travel that way will need to take one of four detours depending on their direction of travel. Those heading north on Route 19 should continue on 19, turn left to Cranberry Square Drive, left again at Executive Drive and finally continue to Freedom.

Drivers heading westbound on Route 228 should turn right onto Route 19 and follow the same directions as those traveling north on Perry Highway.

Motorists driving south on Route 19 should turn right onto Thorn Hill Road, right on Commonwealth Drive and finally continue to Freedom.

Finally, those heading eastbound on Freedom should turn right onto Commonwealth Drive, left on Thorn Hill Road and turn on to Route 19 northbound.
