Eleanor Yetter
Eleanor “Red” Yetter, 90, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at home in San Diego, Calif.
Red graduated as valedictorian from high school.
She had an incredible professional career at Wise Business Forms for more than 20 years as customer service and credit manager, where she achieved a difficult and rare national CFC certification.
Red was generous with her time, volunteering her help with Meals on Wheels through First English Lutheran Church.
Many people were lucky enough to enjoy one of Red’s homemade pies, claiming she had the flakiest crust. She was an accomplished seamstress, using her skills to create outfits from the 1960s and 1970s, displaying them in Altmeyer’s window in downtown Butler.
Red was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, Claude “Bucky” Yetter, her partner for 68 years.
She is survived by her children, Carol, Tracy, Scott and Brad, and their spouses, Kathleen, Chuck, Cheryl and Susan; and her five grandchildren, Taylor, Amanda, Timothy, Mitchell and Brandon.
She was very competitive, enjoying family card games, shuffleboard and billiards. We loved her natural ability to dance, even backward on roller skates!
Red and Bucky enjoyed traveling around the world and across all 50 states. She also traveled with each grandchild to their selected world destination.
Red remained a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, no matter where she resided. She loved maple log doughnuts (missing Stanley’s of course), and Peter’s Chocolate Shoppe turtles on special occasions!
Red liked to binge watch a good mystery, romance or comedy on Netflix, and was hooked on investigative TV shows. She avidly read the newspaper end to end every day, and amazed everyone at solving crossword puzzles.
We will miss her dearly.
YETTER — There will be no service at this time for Eleanor “Red” Yetter, who died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021.
The family plans to hold Red’s memorial celebration after the pandemic.
