Joan C. Geibel
Joan C. Geibel, 90, of Butler passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at The Arbors at Saint Barnabas, Valencia campus.
Born March 28, 1930, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Ruth and Zeno Leech.
A lifelong resident of Butler, Joan was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed hosting parties and picnics for family and friends. She was an avid reader and loved shopping. She especially enjoyed vacations at the beach with family or friends.
Joan was a lifelong parishioner of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
Joan is survived by her three children, Diane (Geibel) Straley and her husband, Bill Straley, of New Franklin, Ohio; William Geibel and his wife, Theodosia Regal, of Butler; and Jay Geibel and his wife, Beth Geibel, of Pittsburgh.
She is also survived by her cherished granddaughter, Leah (Geibel) Hainebach and her husband, Clayton Hainebach, of Juneau, Alaska; her brothers, David Leech and his wife, Gladys Leech, of Butler, and Donald Leech of Albuquerque, N.M.; two nieces and four nephews.
She also leaves behind a loving, “second” family at The Arbors. The exceptional care she received while at St. Barnabas was a blessing for both her and her family.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Donald J. Geibel, who died June 18, 2014.
GEIBEL — A private Mass of Christian burial for Joan C. Geibel, who died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, was celebrated at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.Burial was at Calvary Cemetery.Arrangements were handled by Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
