One person suffered serious injury and was flown to the hospital following a crash in Mercer Township Friday night.

The incident occurred at 512 Grove City Road at 10:18 p.m., according to state police.

Police said Matthew M. Wilson, 41, of Grove City was driving a 2008 Nissan Versa north, when he lost control of the vehicle and it hit a tree.

The crash was reported as an entrapment, according to Butler County 911 dispatch reports.

Slippery Rock and Harrisville fire departments, the county Technical Rescue Team and Superior EMS assisted on the scene.
