Marijuana allegedly found hidden in woman's bra at county prison

A Brady Township woman is accused of trying to sneak marijuana into the Butler County Prison in her bra.

Pennsylvania State Police Monday charged Jodi M. Garvin, 44, with a felony count of bringing a controlled substance into the prison and a misdemeanor count of possession of a small amount of marijuana.

The case stems from Garvin's arrest earlier this month on bench warrants, authorities said. It wasn't until after she was placed in the processing area at the prison July 11 that she allegedly admitted she had contraband.

A correctional officer searched the defendant and found a pill bottle containing suspected marijuana hidden in her bra, police said.

Garvin was subsequently released July 12. On Monday, District Judge Wayne Seibel issued an arrest warrant for her on the latest charges.
