GetGo site plans approved for Boggs Ave.

A GetGo gas station will be built on the corner of Route 228 in Adams Township.

ADAMS TWP — Plans to open a GetGo on Route 228 took significant steps forward Monday, with township supervisors approving a site plan as well as a motion to officially vacate a portion of Boggs Avenue, which had been left unused for more than 20 years.

The GetGo would be at the intersection of Route 228 and Warrendale Road, on the west side of the road. Developers hope to have the project completed by fall of next year.

Monday’s board meeting began with a hearing on the vote to vacate the portion of Boggs Ave. with discussion centering on whether the township must vote to abandon the road, as it has been left vacant for so long.

Township manager Gary Peaco said the township thought it would be best to get it down in writing for clarity’s sake.

Supervisors closed the hearing and voted to approve the motion to vacate the road.

The board also voted to approve the GetGo site plan.
