Butler Area School District seeks input on configuration

Butler Area School District is changing school configurations in the coming years by moving ninth graders to a renovated Butler High School.

The district has scheduled several public meetings to get community input on the “high school renewal process.” A news release on the district's website said that interested participants must commit to attending four meetings, which will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. Aug. 24, Oct. 11, Feb. 18 and March 18.

The news update, signed by superintendent Brian White, said the district will discuss who its students are, explore the work world where students will live and work, reflect on the programs, support and resources already provided and identify gaps and areas in which the district can improve.

People who are unable to commit to attending the four meetings can also participate in to-be-announced community forums as well as surveys the district will distribute.

Those who want to participate in the four meetings can register on Butler Area School District's website at www.basdk12.org.
