Thomas E. Beyer
Thomas E. Beyer, 83, of Zelienople, formerly of Ellwood City and Middlesex Township died Monday morning at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born in Pittsburgh Oct. 5, 1934, he was the son of the late John and Maude Jones Beyer.
Tom had been a salesman for AMP Company and most recently worked for the Cranberry Auto Auction.
He served in the U.S. Army and had been a member of Holy Sepulcher Catholic Church in Glade Mills.
Tom grew up the youngest of six siblings in Twin Willows flats in the 1940s. He often spoke of his happy days at the local roller rink and area pool. He excelled at diving and actually perfected a corkscrew dive all his own. He was an exceptional athlete, lettering four years at Mars High School and continuing to play during his army career.
Later in life, he received many awards for his competitive skating passion. Tom's love for dancing was well known and he could whisk even a girl with “two left feet” around the floor with ease.
Tom was a likable fellow who enjoyed many good friends and family who cherished all his fun-loving ways. It is most definite that he is smiling down from Heaven as he waltzes with the angels.
Surviving are his sister, Neverta Frye of Fox Chapel; his three sons, Thomas J. (Amy J.) Beyer of Middlesex Township, Timothy B. Beyer of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Aaron Beyer of Durango, Colo.; seven grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Beyer; and his siblings, Cathryn, Dolly, Margaret, Jack and Charles.
