Doris Antoszyk

Doris Antoszyk, 87, of Cabot, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born April 19, 1933, in Freeport, she was the daughter of George Hines and Josie Haines Hines Lowers.

Doris was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church and St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, the GFWC Saxonburg District Woman’s Club. She served on the South Butler County School Board for eight years, and had served on the board of SEBCO and was very active in the American Field Services (AFS) for over 25 years, hosting over 100 students.

Surviving are five sons, Gary (Carol) Antoszyk of Lakeland, Fla., Mark (Sharon) Antoszyk of Concord, N.C., Brian (Karen) Antoszyk of Saxonburg, John (Penny) Antoszyk of Marion, Kan., and her AFS son, Rolando (Shelly) Lorenzano of Silver Spring, Md.; her daughter, Joanne (Mark) Colpo of Sarver; two brothers, John (Susan) Lowers of Freeport and Bruce (Donna) Hines of Avella; three sisters, Carol Sue (Robert) Hunter of Freeport, Beth (Darryl) Acre of Tarentum and Beverly Gordon of Avella; and over 60 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, John Lowers; her stepmother, Margaret Hines; her husband, John J. Antoszyk, who died May 21, 2003; and two sisters, Patricia Hoover and Sandy Cooper.

Antoszyk — Friends of Doris Antoszyk, who died Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, were received Sunday at Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg, and services followed with Carmen Shullo, officiating.

Interment will be in Freeport Cemetery.
