Juanita Catherine Mahood

Juanita Catherine Mahood, 77, of Karns City passed away Wednesday at ACMH Hospital.

She was born on Dec. 13, 1936, in Karns City, the daughter of the late Vinton C. and Lillie Brothers Fink.

Juanita was a lifetime resident of the area and graduated from Karns City High School in 1954.

For many years, the residents of Karns City could see her at the Harold Ekas Grocery Store, where she worked as a clerk.

Juanita was a member of the Karns City Church of God of Prophecy.

In her free time, she enjoyed photography, collecting coupons and working outdoors in her flower gardens.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Joseph Mahood, who she married on April 28, 1958; her daughter, Karin Mahood of Karns City; her grandchildren, Isaiah Mahood of Petrolia, Joshua Mahood of Karns City and Melissa Duffie and her husband, Sean, of Stafford, Va.; her great-grandchildren, Quincy L. Mahood and Savanah and Sierra Duffie; her brother, Charles J. Fink of Chicora; her sister, Doris J. Heeter of Newton Falls, Ohio; and her daughter-in-law, Sally Mahood of Stafford, Va.

In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Mahood; her grandson, Nathaniel J. Mahood; her brother, Robert Fink; and her sister, Naomi Ruth Fink.

Mahood — The family and friends of Juanita Catherine Mahood, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 102 S. Argyle St., Petrolia.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Kelley officiating.
