Harriet M. Yough
Harriet M. Yough, 82, of Chicora passed away peacefully to be with the Lord Friday afternoon at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Harriet was born Nov. 9, 1936, in Petrolia. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ethel Larimore Day.
She was a 1954 graduate of Fairview Township, Karns City High School.
Harriet was a member of the Chicora United Methodist Church and had most recently been attending the Chicora Alliance Church.
She had been employed at Sugarcreek Rest, Montgomery Ward and the Bon Ton.
Harriet was a member of the Bruin Bowling League and The Red Hat Society. She looked forward to golf outings with the ladies golfing group. She enjoyed the company of family and friends and most especially, enjoyed watching her grandsons play baseball and soccer.
Surviving are her husband, W. Eugene “Gene” Yough, whom she married in Petrolia on Aug. 28, 1954.
Also surviving are two daughters, Vicki Roome and her husband, Stan, of Asheville, N.C., and Ginger Roupe and her husband, Chuck, of the Villages, Fla.; a son, Matthew T. Yough and his wife, Georgia, of Chicora; four grandsons, Nathan Roupe of Millersville, Md., Bill (Brandy) Roome of Asheville, N.C., Matthew Yough and Tyler Yough of Chicora; a great-grandson, James Roome of Asheville, N.C.; four brothers, Dick Day of East Butler, Regis “Biz” Day of Petrolia, Bob Day of Butler and Larry Day of Beaver; three sisters, Maxine (Jim) Kamerer of New Castle, Joyce (Keith) Collier of Butler, and Cindy Coleman of Petrolia; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Rodney “Skeet” Yough; a brother, Lewis Day; and two sisters, June Griffiths and Joan Wirt.
The family extends sincere appreciation to the many medical professionals, caregivers and special friends who assisted and supported Harriet during her illness.
YOUGH — A memorial service for Harriet M. Yough, who died Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chicora Alliance Church, 310 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora, with the Rev.
