McCollough

William L. McCollough, 86, of Baden, formerly of Karns City, passed away Feb. 27, 2022, at Concordia Villa St. Joseph.

Bill was born in Kepples Corners on Sept. 23, 1935, and was the son of the late Floyd and Katherine (Sherwin) McCollough.

He was a graduate of Karns City High School.

He served in the U.S. Army and had attended Carnegie Mellon University.

He enjoyed a long career as a metallurgist for Crucible Materials Corp. and later as the owner and proprietor of McCollough’s Soft Serve.

Bill loved music, singing in the church choir and playing his trumpet, was an avid reader, and loved gathering with his family and friends.

He was a longtime member of Bakerstown United Methodist Church and had most recently attended Trinity Lutheran Church.

Bill was preceded in death by both his first wife, Carole Ann (Snyder), and his second wife, Alice J. (Moore); and his sister, Brenda Delaney.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Linda Raup; his brother, Butch McCollough (Cheryl); four daughters, Vicki Justus (Scott), Tracy Cardillo (Tony), Melanie Baumgarten (Mark), and Shari Kiser (Scott); three stepsons, Ronald Moore (Donna), Roger Moore (Michelle) and Richard Moore (Laura); 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Concordia Villa St. Joseph and Good Samaritan Hospice, for their extraordinary and loving care.

MCCOLLOUGH — Services for William L. McCollough, who died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, will be private for his family only but will be livestreamed and available to be watched beginning at 5:15 p.m. Friday at https://youtube/rCHHMoY00bw.

Arrangements are being handled by GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
