Local historian to present ‘Lingerie Lady’ at library
CRANBERRY TWP — Local historian Sue Morris will bring her popular presentation, “The Horne’s Lingerie Lady,” to the Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road, at 6:30 p.m. March 15.
The program gives a look at what life was like for ladies a century ago as Morris describes the experiences of a local woman who traveled the world in the employ of the Joseph Horne Co., a Pittsburgh department store.
In the presentation, Morris shares her research on a Pittsburgh woman who worked for Horne's as a lingerie buyer. In 1919-20, the woman traveled alone to the Far East on a buying trip.
Registration for the program is free. Those interested in attending can register at cranberrylibrary.org or call the library at 724-776-9100.
Morris, who blogs as “The Historical Dilettante,” is an independent historian and researcher. For more about Morris’ work, visit historicaldilettante.com
